Responsibilities:

- · Provide genetic testing.
- · Perform genetic risk calculations.
- · Help families get informed about possible health risks.
- · Help a patient deal with a diagnosis.
Average Salary: $25,000- $55,000
Educational Requirements:
A genetic counselor has to have a master’s
degree program. Before this program they must take undergraduate classes on
chemistry, biology, physiology, and genetics. They might highly recommend experience.
I would not
like to be a genetic counselor because it seems boring to me. My interests are
far from this field.
