Duties and Responsibilities:

   They straighten teeth and correct bites. They apply braces, retainers, or space maintainers to the teeth of the patient to fix the problem they have. They also plan treatment plans depending on the patient’s dental problem. They may also supervise orthodontic technicians and assistants on doing routine procedures.

Average Salary: $84,506- $180,277

Educational Requirements:

   You need to take biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics. You need a Bachelor’s degree and then graduate from dental school with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM). In dental school you will receive training. After graduating from dental school you will need to enter a residency which is specialized orthodontic training.
