This statement is saying that every time you do something good you feel warmth and kindness in your heart, but when you do bad you feel like if you are the worst person in the world. An example of doing good is when you talk to a lonely student who is standing by himself not only do you feel good, but you get a new friend too. An example of doing something bad is when you do drugs because you have let yourself and your parents down.
