My Dream College

   So thUCSBis being my last year in high school I am hearing a lot about colleges and how to prepare for them. After hearing about them so much I know that it is not gonna be easy. Before this I thought that the college I wanted to go to was UC Berkeley, then my option moved to UC Irvine. Know that  i have seen many more more my mind is set on UCSB which stands for UC Santa Barbara. It is a beautiful university and very big. The campus is very large that's why people usually take bikes or scooters to get to their classes. This university is a great choice for me not only is it near the beach, but it is also a great place to go to. I would like to be a pediatrician, psychologist, or a marine biologist. I would love to go into the medical field to be a pediatrician because I love learning about the human body. My dream is to become a UCSB Gaucho and later on full fill my dream of being a pediatrician.

“My Experience So Far at HPIAM”

    My experience so far in HPIAM has been very fun and scary at the same time. I mean fun because the teachers I have gotten have been very nice and cool. They help me understand and at the same time enjoy the class. My teachers would make me laugh and also would make the class so interesting. I like that the teachers were teaching me important lessons in a fun way because I learned more. When I said that my experience has been scary is because now I am a senior and I know that this is my last high school year. The thought paralyzes me especially because I know that there are no rooms for error. I am also scared because my classes this year are a little more challenging then what I’m used to. My classes this year have been giving me a lot of homework and it has been tough. However, they tell me that they are leaving my classmates and I more homework because it will prepare us for college. This makes me fear college even more because I understand that it is going to be anything, but easy. Although the work that my teachers this year are giving me is a lot I still do it because I know that it will help me come in hand. One thing I noticed is that my procrastination this year is becoming less every day because I finally realized that I will have a tough time if I continue procrastinating. I would have to say that my senior year has been the most difficult year yet because of how much work I am receiving. Even though it has been hard it is in my mind that it is not impossible. This is my last year in HPIAM and I know it will be great.

This statement is saying that there are no excuses for choosing the wrong, if at any time you do you face up to it because in the end it was your choice. Nothing excuses you to do evil. For example, if you stole something and you get caught there are no justifications because at some point you knew it was wrong.

Dental and Responsibilities:

   Dental hygienists provide preventive treatment for oral health problems. They also educate patients and promote dental health. They may be employed in health departments, nursing homes, hospitals, dental school, or school districts, but usually they work in private dental offices and clinics. Dental hygienists:

• ·         Screen patients for dentists.
• ·         Take and develop radiographs.
• ·         Remove calculus and plaque from teeth.
• ·         Apply preventive treatments to teeth.
• ·         Counsel patients on oral health and teach them appropriate dental health procedures.
• ·         Perform dental office management duties.

Average Salary: $22,000-$35,000

Educational Requirements:

   Dental hygienists must have a high school diploma or GED certificate before participating in dental hygiene education programs.

   Dental hygienists usually earn an Associate’s Degree at a community college or private school. To practice, they must also earn a license by passing the Dental Hygiene National Board examination.

   Some Hygienists earn Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees if they want to teach, do research, or broaden their scope into public health issues.

The Sting Of The Scorpion

   This video was about a little boy who was in the desert with his parents and his parents had told him to wear shoes so that he could protected from dangerous things such as snakes or scorpions. One morning the boy deciding to take a walk and got lazy so he instead wore sandals. As he was walking he got stung by a scorpion and his parents had to take to the closest hospital, which was two hours away. He lived,but he learned a valuable lesson. It was to always obey what his parents tell to do. I relate because in Eleventh grade I didn't study for a test and I failed, i felt like i had gotten stung by a scorpion too it was horrible. So the lesson I learned is to always study.

This statement is saying that no matter what the situation is you have to always choose the right because it is best. When it comes to making a decision you always have to decide the right one. For example, if you didn't get a lesson you have to choose to ask the teacher if she/he could tutor you, even if you have to stay after school. Always choose the right!

Duties and Responsibilities:

   Dental assistants help dentists provide dental care. They often work in teams with dental hygienists and laboratory technicians. They may work in health clinics, dental schools, nursing homes, and the military, but usually they work for dentists in private practice. Dental assistant duties include:

• ·         Taking and developing dental x-rays.
• ·         Taking medical histories for patients.
• ·         Sterilizing and preparing dental instruments and equipment.
• ·         Instructing patients about dental health care to include brushing and flossing.

Average Salary: $14,000-$25,000

Educational Requirements:

   Dental assistants must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.

   They must receive additional training at a community college, vocational school to learn their skills. Length of programs varies between six months and one year. To become certified, dental assistants must pass an examination from the Dental Assisting National Board.
