Duties and Responsibilities:

   Opticians measure the size of the glasses to the size of the patient’s face and then order them. Some can also fit eye lenses and fake eyes to their patients. They can work for an ophthalmologists or optometrists who sell glasses, others own their own retail store, and others work for an optical store.

Average Salary: $19,000- $40,000

Educational Requirements:

   In high school you must take hard courses in algebra, geometry, physics, and mechanical drawings. You have to have a high school diploma or GED so that you can start training. For training you can either take an approved two-year course at a school of opticianry or an approved three year on-the-job apprenticeship.

Duties and Responsibilities:

   They organize the eyeglasses and lenses written through prescription by an ophthalmologist so that the patient feels comfortable wearing them. Optical technicians work in optical laboratories, for ophthalmologists or optometrists, and for retail stores that have optical departments.

Average Salary: $15,000- $20,000

Educational Requirements:

   To start training you need a high school diploma or a GED. Training programs are in vocational schools and community colleges; they can last from six months to a year. Optical departments in some retail stores do in-job training.

I would like to be an optical laboratory technician because there job sounds simple. It seems like an interesting career to work in.

     This quote has a sense of good sportsmanship because if you cheat in a game then you are not really winning. It is saying that you have to do what is right and not be unfair. For example, if it is a finals game and you feel you are not doing your best then just keep trying because at least you will know that you did what was right. Even if you lost you will know that you did not give up and that is very honorable.

     This weekend I saw the marathon of The Walking Dead. It led up to the new episode. It is a show because of the zombies, it is very nerve wrecking. I was also writing an essay for my English class, which was very troublesome. It was a relaxing weekend and fun.

Duties and Responsibilities:

   Ophthalmologists are doctors for the eye, they can also perform surgery. They find treatments for diseases or disorders of the eye and can prescribe glasses for vision problems. They can work in hospitals, clinics, and private practices.

Average Salary: $90,000- $150,000

Educational Requirements:

   You have to complete a three to five year residency in an approved ophthalmology program after completing medical school and an internship. Then they need to pass a certification.

I would like to be an ophthalmologist because it sounds really interesting. It seems that this career can be really good to get into.
