Health information specialists analyze
medical data, finances, and insurance data. They make sure that everything gets
recorded in the records right. There are many types of health information
specialists like:

· Certified coding specialist
They work in hospitals, clinics, insurance
companies, and physician offices.
Average Salary: $20,000-
$25,000 (Coding Specialist)
$23,000- $30,000 (Record Technicians)

Educational
Requirements:
A
coding specialist must have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Record
technicians must have an associate’s degree from an accredited college program
or from the American Health Information Management Association Independent
Study Program. Record administrator has to earn a bachelor’s degree program in
the field. They have training in college and only get certified if they pass
their examination.

I would not like to be a health information
specialist because to be putting records in files and managing the insurance
information is not really in my interests. This career does not catch my eye.
