Optometrist
Duties and
Responsibilities:
They diagnose the vision problem and
prescribe the eyeglasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy you need. The
difference they have with ophthalmologists is that optometrists can write
medical prescriptions, treat diseases, or perform surgery. Most of them are self-employed, but some work
in hospitals, government agencies, optical manufacturers, or universities.
Average
Salary: $78,000
Educational
Requirements:
You should take the highest courses in math,
science, and English. Before optometry school you need at least two years of a
pre-professional program in college. Optometry school is four years long and
after you earn the degree of Doctor of Optometry, you must pass state tests
before starting the practice.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!
I would not like to be an optometrist
because I am not interested in this type of career. I would like to work with
more of the human body.
